History of EIM in the Philippines
The growing concerns of deaths caused by Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) propelled the inception of EIM in the Philippines.
EIM was launched on September 7, 2013 during the annual convention of the PASOO at the Edsa Shangri-La hotel. The launch activity was headed by Dr. Rodolfo Florentino who was the Task Force Chair of EIM Philippines. The launch was concluded with a ceremonial signing of the EIM Commitment Wall by representatives of 14 highly respected organizations who serve as founding members of EIM Philippines.
The EIM program in the Philippines focuses on training doctors, fitness professional and allied health professionals to prescribe exercise to their patients as a way to promote activity and healthy lifestyles and prevent disease.
